The Self-Portrait results

Your Self-Portrait results include:

Past Archetype

The early adaptations and quiet rules you learned to live by. This was the intelligent way that you navigated your past, whether it was in childhood or just a younger version of yourself. The strategies you developed worked and made sense at the time, but maybe you’re still running on those same programs without realizing it. Whatever the case, examining how we became the way we are is so important to moving forward.

Maybe you were The One Who Couldn’t Rely on Anyone Else, The One Who Learned to Become Impressive or The One Who Needed to be Brave. Take the Self-Portrait to discover how a younger version of yourself adapted.

Present Season

This isn’t fixed forever. In fact, you’ll move through many seasons throughout your life. Hard chapters are temporary and the best chapters are rarely permanent. When we reflect on where we’re at in this stretch of life, we can take note of what things brought us to this point. And what constitutes a “good week” is totally different depending on what your season is.

Maybe you are currently in a Season of Rebuilding or a Season of Pause. Or perhaps you’re in a Season of Momentum? Take the Self-Portrait Assessment to reveal the present chapter of life you’re in right now.

Future Possibilities

The dimension your life is reaching for. Most of us know what we don’t want, and when we do name what we wish for, it’s usually a job title or a bigger house. This result isn’t that at all. Instead, it’s what you deeply desire your future to feel like. The Hoped-For Self is what you want. The Expected Self is what you believe will actually happen. The Feared Self is what you’re trying not to become. Seeing those side by side is uncomfortable in a very productive and helpful way.

Maybe your deepest desires for the future center on Belonging & Relationships, Play, Lightness & Joy, or Wholeness & Stability. Take the Self-Portrait Assessment to explore the three-way splinter: the hoped-for, expected and feared future self.

Underlying Tensions

The pull you keep negotiating between safety and expansion, control and surrender, giving and receiving. Tensions are the underlying pull and a big insight into why you keep arriving at the same standstill in unrelated parts of your life. If you learn your tension is Belonging ↔ Independence, the job stress, the friendship that went quiet and the reason you cannot commit to the move all turn out to be the same thing in three different outfits. It’s a relief, but it’s also something more solid and actionable in a way that “you are conflict-avoidant” isn’t. All of us live with these little contradictions.

Are you being pulled between Protection ↔ Expression, Observation ↔ Participation or Thinking ↔ Feeling? Take the Self-Portrait Assessment to see where you’re being pulled.

Personal Arc

This is the thread that connects the past, present and future… the story your life is telling. This is the through-line and the most forward-facing of all the results.

Maybe you are on the Self-Respect Arc, the Liberation Arc, the Harbor Arc or the Delight Arc. Take the Self-Portrait Assessment to unlock your overarching theme.

Viewing Your Results

After you complete the assessment, you will get to explore your interactive results dashboard, and you can return to it anytime. From the dashboard you can download your PDF Keepsake, a more thorough analysis of your results.

You can also download sharable photo and video cards, and you will receive a personalized link and code to share with your friends. Take the Self-Portrait Assessment to open your dashboard.

Research-informed

Built on decades of psychology and behavioral science.

Every result draws on established traditions in developmental and personality psychology: the study of how early relationships shape us, what genuinely motivates a life and how people grow and change over time.

We translate that science into language that is warm and recognizable, never clinical. There is no diagnosis and no label here, only a careful, well-sourced result you are free to recognize, question and carry forward.

From Real People who have taken the Self-Portrait

My self-assessment was extremely accurate, at once reassuring and motivating. I felt really seen, and I appreciated the gentle advice woven into the results. I also found that the questions allowed me to look inward in a very natural, non-judgmental way.

The self portrait assessment really helped me take a second and look at my life in a deeper way. It goes a little beyond therapy* and really makes you sit with prompts and things and ask yourself these questions that I feel like may not happen in a single hour session. It’s also something that is hard to do with yourself via shadow prompt or online journal prompts, this really gives you a full picture. It helped me not only see wanting to fix, but it made me see how far I’ve come. It also assured me that I’m on the right path. Beyond that, it’s given me clarity into the steps I can take to be where I wanna be and manifest the kind of life I truly want.

A note from Bellamy: the Self-Portrait is a self-reflection tool. It is not therapy, a clinical assessment or a substitute for professional mental health care.

The Bellamy Self-Portrait Assessment was such a great way to check in with where I’m at and where I should be heading. The constellation was the perfect way to visualize what areas I’d been neglecting and need to focus on! I’ll be checking back in regularly as I work towards my goals.

Wow, what an experience and totally different from basic personality tests. My results are definitely ME, to a tee and I really liked how I was given so much advice on how to actually address or take action on things in my life. The Self-Portrait is so much more than I expected it to be. My favorite Signals were the People-Pleasing Signal, the Overwhelm Signal and the Spark Signal. Also, I loved the Bellamy Night Sky. So cool. I sent it to all of my friends.

Very interesting assessment. I found the entire dashboard to be quite thorough and I’m curious to see how my results will be different in a few months. It definitely makes you think about your past, present and future. I felt it was very accurate. It explained me very much things that I haven’t thought about in a long time or maybe ever. I think it will help me very much.
